Merci. Une exclusivité Paroles d'Actu, par Phil Defer. DOCUMENT

Nicolas, I am an independent voter. I believe in a strong foreign policy, the free market, and the rule of law. The same rules should apply to everyone, without breaks or favoritism to the party in power.
I believe that President Obama has been a failure as a President. He does not defend America's national interests abroad. He has spurned our key allies, including Britain, France, and Israel. Instead, he has gotten cozy with corrupt governments across Asia and the Middle East, including Russia. He apologizes for American values, and the values of Western Civilization, such as tolerance, free speech, and the rule of law. He has allowed the Iranian state to develop nuclear weapons, with absolutely no indication that if Iran gets the bomb, he will do anything concrete to stop it.
At home, Obama has promised to raise taxes in the middle of a deep recession, he forced through a 1,200 page health plan that creates a bureaucratic nightmare state, and he has spent this country onto a fiscal cliff from which it may never return. This is reckless beyond any precedent. He does not understand how a free, functioning economy works, and it shows.
What is needed to get America back on track is a President and a Congress who understand how the economy works, who will lower taxes and government spending, who will assert American values and interests abroad, including the possible use of deadly force, if necessary, to stop the Iranian bomb.
I don't think Romney is the ideal candidate, but he is several orders of magnitude better than Obama. Obama's policies are destroying America. President Romney will at least drastically slow that decay, and hopefully reverse it. Romney has my enthusiastic support. I believe that the American people have begun to reach similar conclusions, and that we are witnessing a cascade in Romney's favor in the weeks remaining before the election. I watch the polls every day -- including in the swing states of Ohio, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, Iowa, Missouri, Colorado, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. I believe that Romney will carry all of the swing states, with the possible exception of Iowa, and that he will win in a landslide. I look forward to President Mitt Romney taking office on January 20, 2013.

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
[I work in] Video Production.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
Would rather see it between Jill Stein and Gary Johnson… but if I absolutely had to pick between just those two, Obama.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
No. Debt and foreign policy would be the current disaster continuing.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
No. Debt and foreign policy would be the current disaster continuing.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
Obama.
Anything else ?
This election is sad to watch.

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I would like people to know that I am a Libertarian which means I lean left socially and right fiscally.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
Neither, and its a nose to nose race to the edge of oblivion when it comes to our currency and financial system.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
Absolutely Not.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
Absolutely Not.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
I believe President Obama will win a second term.
Anything else ?
Americans need to wake up and realize the flaws of a two party system... we consistently vote for the lesser of two evils instead of voting with principle and dignity.
Kate V.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
To get back on track : America needs to end these wars (bring our troops home and stop pestering other countries for our own "benefit"), we need to become more welcoming to business to improve our economy (fewer regulations, let free market dictate), we need to stop trying to legislate morality from either side (just because I don't necessarily agree with something doesn't mean I have the right to make laws regarding it, especially related to personal freedoms). Obama and Romney will do nothing to correct any of these things. Both are "bought" by the major corporations that run our country, both support NDAA and the Patriot Act, both want to continue if not expand our war activities, both support socialized healthcare and both want to continue to regulate our country into bankruptcy, just in different ways.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
No better or worse than Obama, both of which are poor options with no meaningful difference between them.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
The only reason I would like to see Obama re-elected (still not voting for him!) is that, with Obama, we're guaranteed only 4 more years. If Romney were elected, we're likely stuck with 8 years.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
Its looking more likely that Romney will be elected. Interesting how he's all of a sudden become the better speaker and conveniently saying whatever the moderates want to hear (not surprising). I sincerely feel that the "powers that be" hold elections to make us, the general masses, THINK we have any say. I'm becoming one of those crazy conspiracy theory people and, sadly, I think that might make me one of the sane/rational Americans.
Anything else ?
We NEED to end this two-party (ok, really 1 party with 2 different names) system. A majority of Americans actual align best with Libertarian beliefs but don't know it because mainstream media and the major parties down play it and won't allow the average, non-informed American to ever hear about it (i.e. Gary Johnson is on the ballot in all 50 states but is not allowed in the debates. I saw 1 study that, according only to quizzes that tell people who they align with by policies, it would be a 2 way race between Obama and Johnson with Romney losing horribly. The powers cannot have that, therefore, we're stuck with the 2 options that they want us to have).
Losing hope. Considering moving to another country, seriously looked up what it would take to move to Costa Rica. They have great laws but also protect employment for their citizens so not much of an option. Ugh.
After an exchange with Kate...
I totally agree that I NEVER thought Romney stood a chance yet, now it has all changed. Just makes me think even more that he's the candidate that the puppet masters have anointed as our next president. I will personally be voting for Gary Johnson. I would have written in Ron Paul but, in my state, that means my ballot would literally be thrown out counting for nothing. At least a vote for Johnson will be counted. Our political system is very screwed up and gives only the impression of freedom of choice. It's feeling more and more like a dictatorship with the major corporations in control. There isn't much we can do until enough of us get really pissed. I fear (and hope for?) another revolution/civil war, and it may get violent. I in no way support violence as a solution but it worked 200+ years ago in the formation of this once great country; at the very least we need a drastic change and we need the average citizen to care/speak up.

THANKS for your reply and for your interest in our country and its government... I was raised very poor and so was my wife... Now well retired... I am 68 and she is 65...
We both think that OBAMA should be re-elected and at same time we MUST remove a large number of the Republicans from our Congress; not because they are Republicans but because they have made pledge of ONE TERM AT ALL COST for Obama ; totally overlooking the job they were sent to Washington to do. That job was and still is to cross over political lines and vote to do what is BEST for this country as a whole and not just the party they belong to... Romney or Ryan won't give any total complete answer to any question asked... always open-ended answer with the finishing of the last sentence being JUST TRUST US... Our Republican Congress has had a record number of filubusters and all votes for any jobs bills is always NO... I hope this will be of help to you...
Romney is very smart and wealthy man who will not ever be open book to anyone... I also feel that he will never give his tax records out ; not because of the votes he will lose in his own party but the Latter-Day Saints Church willl also see where he is only paying his 10% to the church from the money he has showing up in America and NOT the millions he has elsewhere in the world... This will cause him much trouble in his church and he will not be able to enter the MAIL TEMPLE, just the local area churches... ROMNEY is a man to fear...
THANKS.
James C.
What should your readers know? My name is James C. and I am a high school teacher of 14-15 year old students studying World History in a typical public school in suburban Chicago, Illinois. I am a lifelong resident of Illinois having lived in many small rural towns before moving to Chicago nearly 17 years ago. I am married with no children. Politically, I consider myself to be very liberal.
What's needed in America right now is for us to focus on fixing our problems at home rather than attempting to solve the world's problems. We desperately need to work on developing a shared sense of community before the individual. We need to develop ways to work out our differences through the system of a republic which I believe has somewhat broken down.
As far as who gets closer to my ideal I would argue that President Obama has the beginnings of some solutions which will move us in the correct direction. Romney I feel would return us to policies which damaged America during the George Bush administration.
Mitt Romney would not be a good choice for America. I feel that his ideas about getting us involved in fighting the Syrian Civil War would be a mistake, that his rhetoric lends itself to aggression against other nations such as Iran, and that he would needlessly involve us in trade disputes with countries like China. Domestically, I think his idea of a big tax cut in marginal rates while eliminating tax deductions would have the net effect of making the income disparity between social classes worse, and I am very afraid of his proposed cuts to the social safety net. As a teacher, I think his ideas for vouchers in public education would be a disaster.
President Obama, while not perfect, deserves to be reelected because he has made an honest attempt to fix the damage caused by our war in Iraq. He has made a clear attempt to fix the broken war effort in Afghanistan with a clear timetable for withdrawl. And while he got involved in Libya which I thought was a mistake, he has made an effort to work closely with the world community in world affairs rather that a "go it alone" approach as was taken by the previous administration. Domestically, I believe that his policies stabilized both the domestic and world economies after the disastrous 2008 recession/depression which would have been far worse if he had done things as Republicans proposed. I am not happy with his policies on public education, but I do believe that he has made an honest attempt to explain & implement what he believes is best.
Who will win ? Tough call, but I believe that in the end it will be President Obama. It could still go either way, and it is still too close to call.
Anything else : I love France. I have been to 18 nations around the world. My fondest memory of all times was my Christmas break trip to Paris a couple of years ago. As a history teacher, I greatly enjoyed visiting the famous historical sites such as Versailles and the art at Musee du Louvre. But by far my favorite memory was going to see Swan Lake at the Opera de Paris followed by a late night visit to the food market at the Galeries Lafayette. My greatest regret is that I didn't pay more attention in French class as a teenager. Good to hear from you Nicolas. :)

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I am for the constitution and am against anyone who opposes it.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
I think that this country needs neither Obama nor Romney especially at times like these. What this country needs is a strong supporter of the way America used to run, back when our fore-fathers ran this country, a man like Ron Paul (another delegate highly supported by the people, just not by the government).
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
No, Romney would not make even a decent president, he may fool some, but not me. Being a multi-millionaire, he supports those with money and really doesn't care for the lower class or even the middle class. (the US has about 5 percent multi-millionaires)
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
No, after four years of being executive in chief of our once great nation, and having power to change past errors, he did nothing. He sat their and fooled the people with his speech techniques taught to him in law school.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
Hard to say, many love Obama for his motivational speeches (true or not) but people also want a change. I would say Obama.
Lee H.
Dear Nicolas,
I am a transplanted Texan now living on the eastern shore of Maryland's Chesapeake shore. Actively retired.
Romney would be the worst possible president we could have. He would set woman's rights back 100 years while padding the pockets of the top 2%. He has little concern for the middle and none for the lowest.
Obama absolutely should be re-elected and the do-nothing Congress of Tea Party extremists needs to be replaced.
Obama is looking strongest for the next four years.
Thank you, Lee H.

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I suppose, since regional information may help, I'll throw that out there: I'm an 18-year-old white male, currently living in the southeastern portion of the United States.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
Unfortunately, neither of the two main candidates have put forth decent offerings for the presidential position this year. I believe, at this point, the Libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson, is the best possible choice for president, but he unfortunately has been ignored for the most part.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
No. Romney's economic plan and Obama's economic plan appear to be one and the same: Spend more in order to get America back on track. Romney supports increased defense spending, an individual mandate, etc. The only thing he appears willing to cut is subsidies to PBS, which is the equivalent of owing $50,000 to a loan shark and arguing where to cut 50 cents from.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
Obama most definitely does not deserve a second term, and he appears to only be in this race at all due to the fact that Romney is quite possibly the worst presidential challenger in America's history. Obama's crowning achievement over the past 4 years is that he has created 4.5 million jobs (in reality, there's only been a net gain of 300,000 since taking office), and yet he has added 5 trillion to the national debt in that timespan. These jobs he creates are jobs being propped up by excess spending by the US government, and when the spending stops, these jobs will collapse.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
I'd be President Obama will, although Romney has a much better chance now than he did at the start of the debates. Romney just has too many toss-up states that he has to win in order to win the presidency(Ohio, Florida, NC, Virginia), and it appears that Romney will have to win every single of these states. Obama simply has to win one of these, and he's essentially got re-election guaranteed. Unfortunately, the electoral college system has yet again placed the decision of who becomes president on how people in four or so states vote.
Anything else ?
Many people have been fooled by candidates and have delt with the cold hard consequences of their mistakes, All I have to say is don't make those mistakes again.
Marie F.
Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
There's nothing particularly important.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
Gary Johnson.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
No, he will be horrible.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
No, he is horrible.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
Probably Obama unless Mitt Romney steals it like Bush did.
Frank M.
Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I decided to stay out of the race this year because, given the economy, I needed to concentrate on business and my personal finances. After running on a platform of Personal Responsibility in the 2008 election I felt it was the only honest choice I could make.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
What’s needed right now in America is a government that gets out of peoples’ way and lets them make a living. Too many people are sitting on their hands because they don’t trust what the government is going to do next. The most powerful force in America is that of our free economy and people will take full advantage up that fact if they are allowed to believe that they can do so without the government changing the rules on them at the slightest whim. We have more than enough laws in this country to protect everyone and everything so we need a breather on new laws and a true understanding of how the government is going to actually enforce those in place. Once that is known, the economy will take off once again. A Romney administration should be better for that scenario.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
Yes, his upbringing and all his background points to his being a good and decent person.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
No, he is not a President nor is he Presidential. He wants to be in charge, but takes responsibility for nothing bad and everything good – even if the good is manufactured – i.e. reduction in unemployment – only down because millions of people have given up looking for work. Someone who crows about a statistic that results from millions of people losing the will to look for work doesn’t sound like a leader any country needs.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
I am currently on the fence. I still believe Obama will be reelected if for no other reason that the media is going to do everything in their power to ensure that he is reelected. However, I hope it is Romney for not only the good of the United States, but quite honestly the good of the world.
Anything else ?
Look for me to start making a lot more noise about the 2016 presidential election as soon as this one is over.

What's needed ? Good, unselfish people... tall order, hard to find.
I think four-year terms, it's not good enough. First year, the new president is learning the "ins n' outs". Second year, planning strategy so he might apply new ideas IF he is able to have everybody's cooperation... a challenge that takes time. ...On the 3rd and 4th years... he is out campaigning for a new term... a waste of time, in other words he does not have enough time to develop and implement his campaign promises.
Mr. Obama's timing was perfect for him. The electronic Social Media exploded within the young population.
First time voters found Mr. Obama's a real "cool", charismatic person and voted for him, just because they could.
Yes, he found himself with a full plate of challenges. I think all incoming presidents don't know what's behind their "presidential desk". I think he was very lucky to have Hilary Clinton on his side as the Secretary of State. She's very experienced and has been able to deal with foreign affairs with ease or so it seems to me.
Romney's an experienced magnate. His facts as governor speak for themselves.
The U.S. is a capitalistic country where you can make a fortune if you can, what is wrong with that?
I think Romney will be elected. Election day is almost here. We'll see.
Marianne D.
Romney is the way to get on track, he will make the president we need. Obama should not be re-elected but on the 6th of November, he will be re-elected to the detriment of this country.

Jacob P.
Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I live in California, I'm 20, and I graduated high school during the height of the American economic crisis. Having no job experience, and knowing that going to college would result in large debt, I had a very rough time transitioning into adulthood.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
I believe that Obama will lead America to get back on track. Things are already somewhat improving; unemployment has dropped, jobs have been created, and the welfare of many Americans has improved.
Many things still continue, like the wars and plutocracy, which is unfortunate, but Obama is a step in the direction I think most Americans want to go.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
I don't think he's as bad as many people make him out to be. The job of president isn't all-powerful, and he'd have a congress and senate to deal with, just as Obama has.
Romney is very aggressive and inexperienced however, and his policy of austerity is worrying for many Americans, including myself. On top of that, he may have the chance to shape our Supreme Court for years to come; if he elects any Supreme Court Justices that are Republicans during his presidency, we could see a great loss of civil rights, for women and minorities.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
As much as he's failed to do everything he said he will, I still think he should re-elected. By no means is he my ideal candidate, but as I said, he's a step in the direction I'd like to go; a very small step, but a step nonetheless. As previously mentioned, unemployment has fallen, jobs have been created, he is keen on investing in green energy, and has helped make sure Americans maintain the necessities after a great period of loss.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
Who I think will win changes every day. Some days I read the news and see a lot of public opinion that favors Obama, and that makes me hopeful. Other days, it seems like there's a real chance Romney may win, based on how other people are feeling. If I had to say right now, I'd say Obama will win, but only by a small amount.
Anything else ?
Nope !
Dawn R.
Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I am a Liberal Democrat.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
President OBAMA ! Hands down, no question about it.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
Absolutely NOT! I believe this man is a liar and that he does not represent the majority of Americans. His comment about the 47% was disgraceful. How could anyone who feels that way about half of the American population hope to represent all of us? It's not possible. Plus, this man wants to cut Medicare, privatize Social Security, go to war with Iran, doesn't believe in fair pay for women, or for abortion rights or contraception rights for women, and the list goes on... He has encouraged the CEOs of large companies and corporations to intimidate workers regarding their votes, and to threaten their jobs if they don't "vote the right way". And in turn, these CEOs have turned around and followed his requests ! The Republican party as a whole, and especially the Tea Party faction of the Republican party are such obstructionists that they have held back bill after bill that could have helped to bring back jobs and the housing market, as well as many other beneficial things to the economy, all because they agreed that their most important focus was to make President Barack Obama a one-term president at all costs. These are corrupt people who are not doing the work of the people who elected them !
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
ABSOLUTELY ! I believe that it is imperative that he be re-elected and have the opportunity to finish the job that he has begun to get done for our country. We cannot afford to turn back the clock and return to the ways of the Bush years and even worse policies.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
BARACK OBAMA.
Anything else ?
I hope that everyone who is able to will get out and VOTE on November 6th - and not let any of the attempts at the suppression stop them !

[I'm a] 18-year-old first time voter, strong-minded independent.
The thing most needed to save America is the troops at home and a stable monetary policy. Simple solutions to immense problems. Ron Paul and Gary Johnson are the only men half way suited for the job.
If Romney gets elected, I doubt much will change. The both of them are bought and sold by the same corporations.
I don't think Obama should be reelected but I don't think Romney should be president either. A rock and a hard place, indeed.
And lastly, I believe that Obama will be reelected early November, and we might as well get used to the idea of four more years of Obama.

Hi Nicholas,
I wish I knew who was going to win the election. I know that my family and I hope it is not Obama.
Our economy is still in the trash. There are still many a business that is closed. Walking through our mall is like walking through a graveyard. Unemployment is at an all time high, gas is beyond expensive, groceries cost more and more, people's houses are being forclosed, I can go on and on. The 'Hope' that Obama promised is gone. Now, I know that we just want 'better.'
I live in Colorado, a swing state. We are being bombarded with ads via radio and t.v. We are beyond disagreements in politics, now just plain angry.
I"d still tell you to not believe the main stream media from the USA. My family and I are not bigots, nor racists (yet those people exist) but people who want our country to be what it once was. We love our country. I don't wany my grandchildren and great grandchildren to be paying for the mistakes of today, unfortunately, that is what will happen. I know that when someone does not do a good job they are usually replaced by someone who WILL do a good job or someone who will attempt to do the job better.
Right now, I'm going to vote for Romney and hope he will attempt to do the president job better.
Regards to you,
Lannie

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I will be very, very happy when this election is finished.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
We could use an invasion from another planet. That MIGHT get the greedy wealthy to maybe forget about amassing more and more money for a little while. It might make the political class sit up and take notice that we all must one day die, and perpetually postponing implementation of the sorts of policies the masses of people need to have a decent life is a pernicious form of neglect that diminishes us as a society.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
He would be no better, no worse than any of the other bought-and-paid-for corporate stooges that are the only people wealthy enough to occupy the office of President of the United States.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
No. He should be tried – along with George W. Bush and his 5 chief torturers – for the war crimes they’ve committed in the people’s name since 11 September 2001. If they are innocent, then they have nothing to fear from an honest trial.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
Obama.
Anything else ?
Pray for the U.S.

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I have 2 undergraduate degrees, one in medical technology and laboratory science, and one in English Literature. I also have a Masters in Adult Education (Human Resource Development). I am not ideologic, but pragmatic. I espouse any policies that show good leadership, and promote public good and individual achievement.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
What is needed is to hold elected officials accountable. We need to work hard to reform our government, tax policies, and foreign policy. America must be a good neighbor, must only give tax incentives for value created (jobs and public investment, and reward work, rather than portfolio). The general public also must become better informed, and educated as to public policy and become more involved in civic life.
Definitely, President Obama has come closer to having ideas for the right track, like investing in infrastructure, education, renewable energy, and tax incentives for keeping jobs local.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
No, he absolutely would not be good as President. The fact that he has been so inconsistent with policies, moderate when it suites, ultra right when it suites, is scary. He's either a liar, or too poorly informed to be President. Either way, he's listening to the wrong people and has a twisted perspective.
In picking Ryan as running mate, he's espoused a perverted, arrogant perspective on Ayn Rand's philosophy. They see it as a winner take all philosophy, when it is clear that accountability and recognition of ability to create value for all were part of Rand's message. They've forgotten her outcomes based approach, and perverted it to "I will pay myself what ever I want and take what ever I want because I can." They care nothing about liberty, except their liberty to exploit. This is clear in their policy on women't health issues and social issues. "Stay out of how I treat my employees, and pay my taxes, but force a woman pregnant due to rape to have the child." Ayn Rand would be rolling in her grave if she knew what they were thinking and trying to do based on her work.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
Absolutely, with gusto.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
It has been close, but realistically the odds favor Obama. His party and campaign have been good at battling voter suppression, and the fact is that if everyone who is registered to vote does vote, Obama has better than an 80% chance of victory. He HAS been a good President.
Anything else ?
Most Americans really are more reasonable than what you'd think by watching FOX news...

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
(...) I will be happy to give you the input of a 55-year-old who was a Republican in my 20's and switched to Democrat after the failure of the Reagan trickle down... (...) A outsourced electrical engineer that now drives a semi truck... Solid Democrat and a family man and homeowner... Also, I bet 2 people who are Republicans in 2004 and 2006 that we would be in a recession by 2008... 1 believed me and took my suggestions on how to protect himself... the other laughed in my face in 2006 and payed off his lost bet in 2008 and filed Bankrupcy in 2009... because he did it his way.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
Obama is needed with a Democratic-controlled Congress that can't be filibustered... Republicans have filibustered this recovery for 3.5 years... They claim Democrats had total control from January 2009 until January 2011... That's a lie... Democrats had 59 seats in our Senate from Jan. 2009 'til July 2009 and Jan. 2010 to Jan. 2011... Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor met on Jan. 20, 2009 with 12 other Tea Party Libertarian / Republicans and made a plan to filibuster everything Obama would try to do. And they did... As 59 seats are not filibuster-proof... and that's why this recovery is effectively stalled... Obama with Congress control would do a F.D.R. policy... The revenue from that government-funded job program would create tax revenue jobs... It would then see tax revenue on the second part from landlords and home buying as people are working... not collecting unemployment a dead drag on gov. spending... There would be a third part tax revenue from groceries sales and TVs and all non-staple fun stuff including movie attendance and amusement park attendance as people would have disposable income again...
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
Romney would be the same crud as Reagan and Bush... Both presidents raised the national debt and then said trickle down worked... All they did was deficit spending and then lied and said trickle down worked.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
Yes.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
I PRAY people are not stupid enough to put Romney in office... but if he is... I know how to profit from the Republican policies... As I did the Bush policies...
Anything else ?
My job is almost recession-proof as food must be eaten and therefore must be paid to be transported from the farmer to the store... That's my job... I own my home... I know how to play the stock market down and I have a car collection as a hedge as old cars go up in value... not down.

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I want the readers to know that I believe that people should pursue their happiness and help others. Life is more that achieving personal accomplishments.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
America needs to wake up and support our President. If we help each other, we will be ok. I firmely believe that the Health Care Reform will help many. People go bankrupt in this country because of health care bills. By the way, you are lucky in that aspect, France has a fantastic Health Care System according to the World Health Organization.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
I don’t believe Mitt will be a good president. I believe Mitt has a personal agenda. For him, this is about power. I don’t believe he truly cares for our country the way President Obama does.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
Absolutely.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
President Obama will be re-elected in Nov. 6th.
Anything else ?
I hope this helps. Merci

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I am American with dual French/US nationality and have lived in Paris for nearly 25 years. I have set up a Social Media initiative for Democrats Abroad seeking to connect with as many of the 6M+ Americans overseas and use Social Media and analytics to contact them and get them to vote and to build real communities on platforms like Twitter (@demsabroad) and Facebook that will extend well beyond this election.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
I think you know how I feel.
Barack Obama is THE man.
Sincerly...
I think America and in many ways, the world needs a President like Barack Obama - with the leadership, values, and integrity to move America forward. Personally - he is creating a world I want to see my children grow up in.
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
Actually, really not. It actually scares me that so many Americans support the platform of the current GOP. Years ago, the Democratic and Republican parties were different, but not on a profound level. Today, this election is going to make a difference about deep-seeded issues like women's rights, equality, healthcare, immigration -- progress I watched my own parents fight to have and that the Romney/Ryan ticket has declared they will refute. I do not want us to go backwards.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
So much so that I have just taken 5 months of my life and dedicated myself full time to do what I can so he will be.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
Anything else ?
Barack Obama has moved America forward - out of the worst economic and social situation in decades the country is moving ahead - people are banding together. Look at what happened in the face of a natural disaster this week with Sandy. Obama brings the American people together and we are stronger together there is no doubt.
Voting is a right and one that we should all exercise. This 2012 election is so critical for major issues for the US and overseas that I hope that every single person who can will get out and vote.
Two of what I think are the best videos of this election cycle that sum up what I have said above :

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
I'm former Chair of Democrats Abroad France and member of its Executive Committee and served as a delegate pledged to Hillary Clinton at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. I'm a life-long Democrat and am a lawyer in Paris in my spare time.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
A clear Government policy to boost the economy, stimulate job creation, move forward on combatting climate change and overcoming terrorism. The Government should protect and empower the weak and disadvantaged and work against the division of American society into 2 tiers of very wealthy on top and declining middle class on the bottom - the policies supported and implemented by the Obama Administration during the President's first term.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
No. His agenda will be set by his extreme right-wing supporters who have financed him, and he will have little choice but to follow their dictates, regardless of whether he may have more pragmatic personal inclinations.
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
Yes.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
I think Barack Obama will be re-elected, by a clear, if narrow, margin in the popular vote and a clear margin in the Electoral College.
Anything else ?
This Election represents a critical turning point for the U.S. and perhaps the world. It will do much to shape what happens to the U.S. for the rest of the 21st century. Barack Obama was the first 21st century President. He personifies the way the 21st century will look. If he is re-elected, the U.S. will move forward in a more progressive way, toward sound economic growth and an innovation-based economy and will be a force for stability and democracy and rules-based governance internationally. If Romney and the Republicans win and do as they are promising to do, the U.S. will become a divided society, turn inward, and become defensive and perhaps belligerent to the rest of the world.

Hello, what would you like our readers to know about you before we go on ?
J'ai étudié le français quand j'étais petit, mais j'ai tout oublié. So I will continue in English. :)
I was a registered Democrat for 20 years, then became a Republican in 2000. I voted for Kerry in 2004, and became Independent before rejoining the GOP for the 2008 election.
I initially supported Herman Cain (felt he was "smeared" by political enemies), and when it looked like Rick Santorum might get the GOP nomination I again dropped party affiliation and temporarily backed Gary Johnson. I am a fiscal conservative, but socially progressive, a Buddhist (j'ai étudié le français en Thailande), so Rick Santorum's "conservative Christian" positions were troubling... I found Gary Johnson to be too much of an isolationist.
I was impressed with how Mitt Romney handled himself in England and Israel and decided his calm, measured style was just what we needed in a president.
What's needed right now so America gets back on a good track ? Obama... Romney... If anyone, who gets closer ?
We need to stop spending more money than we make (I have tried that in my personal life so I know it does not work! :D).
We should not punish those who are successful. I believe a flat income tax is fair, and that -- while no regulation at all is bad -- too much regulation is also bad.
Sincerly...
Do you think Mitt Romney would make a good, at least decent president ?
I think Mitt Romney will make an excellent president. That is why I created the http://MittRomneyLandslide.com website and FB page !
Do you think President Obama should be re-elected ?
No. He has failed by the standards that he himself set.
Who do you believe (like it or not) will be elected on Nov. the 6th ?
As predicted by the title of this Facebook page, I believe Mitt Romney will win by an electoral LANDSLIDE ! ("landslide" = "very large margin of electoral victory").

I am an educated woman, mother, and wife of an American soldier. I think that we need patience with our current president's plan. He is gradually making progress to rectify the situation our previous leader has left for our country. It will take more than four years to do that. What we don't need is for the advances made in the past for women like myself to gradually be taken away. I don't need my government to make choices about my body. Mitt Romney doesn't have a good record in the state he governed... therefore, why would I feel he could do any better with my country ? I believe Obama will win... he is the right choice for mine and my daughters' future.
THE STATS
25 persons surveyed to date...
44% support (or tend to) President Obama (11/25)
20% support (or tend to) Mitt Romney (5/25)
72% think President Obama will be re-elected (18/25)
16% think Mitt Romney will be elected (4/25)
To be continued... Thank you !
